I am pleased to announce that we have selected a site for next year's summer camp.
We will be attending summer camp at Camp Buffalo Bill; Cody, Wyoming - June 17th to June 23rd, 2012.
Camp Buffalo Bill is approximately 7 miles east of Yellowstone National Park (43 miles west of Cody, WY). Camp Buffalo Bill affords numerous merit badge opportunities for all boys, it has options for families to camp on-site and use the dinning hall for food, it welcomes family for daily visits and use of the dinning hall for food, and it is close enough to Yellowstone that families can also choose from a variety of RV parks and hotels incase you choose to make this into a family vacation. On Wednesday of the camp week, they allow the Troops to leave camp and tour Yellowstone for the day. Another exciting opportunity for Campers is the High Adventure Program where Scouts and Scouters are allowed to choose an entire week-long program from one of the following options: White Water Rafting, Wilderness Trekking (hiking), Rock Climbing, or Fly Fishing. An additional $75.00 will be added to the fees listed below for these activities.
This is an extremely popular destination for summer camping and it is required to place a deposit to hold our reservations. We sent in our deposit check this week, and I have confirmation back from the camp that our space is on hold. Due to this, I have worked up the following fee schedule so we can collect the money that the troop has advanced on our behalf.
Scouts: (Updated 8/4/2011)
- BY: Sept 13 $50.00 deposit due
- BY: Nov 15 $100.00 due
- BY: Feb 13 $100.00 due
- BY: April 1 $95.00 Final Payment due
Total $345.00

* Note 1: The fees listed above include all transportation costs, meals during the entire duration of the trip, and program fees for camp. There are some merit badges that require additional fees that will be paid at camp.
* Note 2: Scouts or Scouters who are interested in attending the high adventure program must provide their additional program fees ($75.00) to hold their reservations by October 1, 2011. Scouts must be at least 14 and First Class to attend.
* Note 3: This fee schedule is only for the Boy Scouts, and Adults who want to attend the camp as leaders. This fee schedule does is not intended for family members who plan to go on this trip as a vacation.
* Note 4: Due to the logistics of moving the entire troop 500 miles from Broomfield for a week, we are looking for some adult leaders and boys who are interested in helping plan for this trip starting in September.
There will be much more information forthcoming, but I wanted to let you all know that we are off and running with next year's summer camp planning. Please Reply to Sender if you have any questions. ... Thanks!
